Last week Mark approached me while I was thoroughly engrossed in my online obsessions. "Would you like these?" he said as he handed me two pieces of fabric he'd recently ripped off of his favorite, dying pair of khaki shorts. "What!? No!" I exclaimed, stunned that he would think they had any value. "They smell." He shrugged and threw them away. And then I realized that he thought I would want them for my recently adopted sewing endeavors.
Suddenly, those scrappy scraps of fabric had merit.
I quickly threw them in the wash (because the truly did smell) and began planning the layout above. I cut the strips into one inch pieces and stamped out the words. I added some sewing on the sides and voila! A custom, totally one-of-a-kind scrapbook page. And the best part - I went green! I recycled! Yay. Me. :)
